A Season for Giving: Support Evergreen at the Giving Machines - McKinney

This holiday season, Texans can change lives with the tap of a card.

The Light the World Giving Machines—sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—are bringing generosity to life across North Central Texas. Instead of buying a snack or soda from a vending machine, visitors can purchase essential items for Evergreen Life Services, such as groceries, clothing, dental care, transportation, and more.

Since their debut in 2017, the Giving Machines have raised more than $32 million worldwide. The Church covers all operating and transaction costs, ensuring 100% of every donation goes directly to organizations like Evergreen Life Services.

This year, the bright red Giving Machines will be featured at three festive North Texas locations:

• Historic Downtown McKinney – Nov. 21 to Dec. 4
  McKinney Performing Arts Center – 111 N. Tennessee Street

• Arlington – Dec. 6 to Dec. 17
  Texas Christkindl Market – 1650 E. Randol Mill Road

• Grapevine – The Christmas Capital of Texas – Dec. 19 to Jan. 1
  Napoli’s Italian Kitchen & Market – 309 S. Main Street

Evergreen Life Services serves, provides for, and champions individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1959 as a Presbyterian ministry, Evergreen now supports nearly 1,000 individuals across eight states—helping them live meaningful, independent lives in their communities.

At the Giving Machines, donors can choose to support Evergreen through:

• Dental Care – $15

• Therapy Animal Care – $25

• Tank of Gasoline for Transport Vehicles – $40

• Community Home Maintenance – $75

• Week of Groceries – $100

Evergreen depends on private donations to bridge the gap where government funding falls short. Many individuals supported by the organization face lifelong disabilities and rely on the compassion of others to access the same basic comforts most people take for granted.
